"Traffic Revenue took the daily buying off our team and pulled tens of thousands a month of wasted spend out of our client accounts. The performance we report back to those clients is better for it.”

Challenge

The client is a West-Coast US ecommerce growth agency. Its Head of Growth runs a team of digital marketers responsible for online revenue and profitability across a portfolio of ecommerce accounts — fashion, beauty, consumer packaged goods and lifestyle.

A growing agency has to stay on top of every client's campaign performance at once, and the day-to-day optimisation work that protects margin is the first thing to slip in a busy week. They brought us in to run the buying underneath their brand, so their own people could stay on strategy, creative direction and the client relationship.

"The thing we could never hold on to in-house was the discipline. Traffic Revenue runs the same optimisation checks on every account every day, including the ones we used to skip when the week got busy.”

Solution

The agency is hired to generate profitable online sales at scale for its clients, so everything we do lands straight on the numbers they report. We took over day-to-day media buying on Meta across the portfolio and work as an extension of their team.

The tools this team had tried over the years all carried features they never used, and none of them removed the work. What they needed was someone doing the work. We monitor ad performance daily on every account rather than reviewing it once a week, and two plays do most of the lifting:

  1. Scale what is working. Daily budget on a CBO campaign moves up when a combination of results holds, not on the strength of one good day.
  2. Cut what is not. Underperforming ads come off before they eat a week of budget. Together the two moves scale the campaigns that earn it and stop the spend that does not — the optimisations that get missed on a busy day when one person is covering a dozen accounts.

Reporting comes back in the agency's own format, so nothing about how they present results to their clients had to change.

Results

Results are hard to reduce to a single number across a portfolio this size, because every client is measured on different KPIs. What the agency can confirm is that ROAS and conversion value across their accounts are higher and more consistent, and that we take tens of thousands a month of wasted spend out of the portfolio.

Daily monitoring is also the safeguard against overspend and underperformance, during the week and over the weekend — which is when an unattended account does the most damage.

"Nothing is perfect, but I can tell you first hand that our team could not hold this level of consistency across client accounts without Traffic Revenue running the buying.”
